PHH Group Marketplace Marks Its 6th Anniversary with Investments in Quality

For six years now, the largest Marketplace in the Baltics has been continuously investing in improving the quality of its product assortment and enhancing customer experience. Since its launch in 2019, Marketplace has delivered over 17 million orders to its customers, with more than 4.2 million orders placed in the past year alone.

The largest single order fulfilled through the Marketplace was a bulk purchase of disposable masks worth €55,000. A record number of buyers was registered during the Black Friday sales campaign, when 44,200 customers shopped on the platform in a single day.

The most expensive product purchased over the six years of the Marketplace’s operation was a small modular house, which cost €5,550. Meanwhile, the all-time best-selling item has been disposable polyethylene gloves – their popularity significantly boosted by the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We can be proud that for six years we have been enabling small and medium-sized businesses in the Baltics to engage in e-commerce, while remaining a key digital gateway for sellers in our region. For many sellers, the Marketplace was a lifeline during the COVID-19 pandemic, and today it continues to support successful online business,” says PHH Group CEO, Dainius Liulys.

According to him, the launch of the Marketplace was a strategic step that gave a decisive boost to the company’s growth. “Understanding that the recipe for a successful Marketplace is successful sellers, we work to ensure our partners’ sales grow. At the same time, the buyer remains at the center of our attention. We consistently follow the key principles of e-commerce: competitive prices, fast delivery, and quality service,” Liulys adds.

Head of Marketplace Raimondas Žilėnas emphasizes that the platform is focused on the quality of both assortment and operations, as this is what defines a better customer experience. “To improve this, we are raising standards for ourselves as well as for our sellers. We want to restore a strong foundation on which we can grow sustainably and successfully. We put every effort into making sure that each purchase on the Marketplace is reliable, simple, and enjoyable,” says Žilėnas.

He also points out that delivery speed is especially important to customers, which is why the Marketplace focuses on fast collection in stores and parcel lockers, as well as quick home delivery. “For this, we have created the Fulfillment by Pigu service especially for sellers. It enables the most popular products to be stored in our warehouse, from where they can reach customers in the shortest time. The conversion rate of products stored in the warehouse is twice as high, allowing sellers to double their sales volumes,” Žilėnas explains.
